MTV Lair
On the 26th of January, MTV Networks Australia
launched a new Show called The Lair.

Based in a new studio above the Metro, a well
known venue in the Sydney CBD, the event made use of the alley next
to the Metro. Norwest Productions was MTV’s audio provider
however on the day of the event, Norwest also provided onsite assistance
to MTV to organise and run power feeds from the generator for all
services involved with the outside broadcast, including lighting,
audio and the OB truck. Two stages arranged with one at each end
of the alley created a very tight ‘street party’ type
atmosphere.
At one end was Kasabian which Norwest supplied
with all of their monitor requirements including a Yamaha M7CL Digital
Console. At the other end was JET who was provided with a Yamaha
PM5D for monitors. Both stages had Norwest passive multicore splits
which also fed the OB truck which then provided stems to the single
FOH console positioned in the centre of both stages on the street.
FOH was 2x EAW KF850’s with SB850 subs at each stage.

A great day was had by all, Norwest and MTV
crew.
