NEW ADAMSON PA set to rock MTV Awards!

The PA for the Australian Video Music Awards (aka MTV awards) consisted of a brand new Adamson PA recently bought by Norwest Productions.

While 24 Adamson Y10 cabinets were utilised at the 2006 Asian Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Doha a further 32 Y10s, 12 T21 Subs and 8 Spektrix have been purchased to complete the concert rig. The PA in the Acer Arena consists of two hangs of 19 Adamson Y10s and one hang of 18 Y10s with two hangs of six T21 subs.

Front fill consisted of eight Adamson Spektrix cabinets. Even though many of the audio crew had never rigged the Y10 the cabinets before, they were flown without a problem. The Adamson Shooter PA Design software was used in designing the PA. A large amount of this show is based on the set and the small footprint of the Y10 cabinet allows us to hang a very large number of cabinets without the drop being too low.

Being able to hang more cabinets also means that vertical coverage can also be more finely tuned - all without jeopardising SPL. The flyable T21 subs allow 5 degree increments so as not to shade the Y10 arrays and also focus more energy towards the floor. The T21 subs feature integrated rigging.
