Keith Urban tours Australian arenas with Norwest and Adamson

Aussie export Keith Urban, now one of the hottest country acts in the United States, returned to his home country Australia for a two week tour in May 2007. Keith has been based in Nashville TN for the last thirteen years and has had four Top 5 albums and eight number one singles in the last six years.

Norwest Productions provided an Adamson arena system consisting of: 56 Adamson Y10 line source array 8 Adamson Spektrix 8 Adamson T21 sub woofers Everything was powered by LabGruppen fp6400 and processed using Dolby Lake processors controlled from a tablet PC using a Cisco wirelesss network.

A complete control and monitor system based around a Digico D5 at front of house and a Yamaha PM1D at monitors was provided by Clair Bros. It toured with Keith through Europe before being brought to Australia. Norwest provided a 63amp three phase 240v/120v step down transormer and distribution system to power this equipment. Norwest also provided consoles (Yamaha PM5D-RH and Midas Verona /48) and monitors (Nexo PS15) for Australian support band The Waifs.

The Australian tour was the beginning of Keith’s extended arena tour, largely of North America, that runs right up to the end of the year. Being the beginning of such a long and complex tour it commenced with extensive rehearsals in Brisbane Entertainment Centre. This was followed by two shows in the venue. The extensive stage set used a giant LED screen (supplied by TDC and Bytecraft) and an enormous stage incorporating a catwalk that led all the way to the front of house mix position where a custom built “B” stage was located. The tour moved on from Brisbane to take in Acer Arena, Sydney; Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne; Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Burswood Dome, Perth.
