Norwest Melbourne provides audio for Planetshakers National Tour 2008
January 2nd to 18th 2008 - Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth.

Melbourne’s Vodafone arena was the beginning of the National Tour for Planetshakers Conference 08.

Planetshakers is a youth & young adult conference aimed at empowering a generation. Russell & Sam Evans, conference founders, started the conference in 1997 to iinspire young people to be all they can be. The first conference in 1997 was held in Adelaide with 300 people. In January 2008 the 12th Planetshakers Conference involved approximately 25,000 young people in four venues across Australia. The Melbourne conference was also recorded for a live DVD.  

The main left/right PA hangs consisted of 12 x Adamson Y18’s with 4 x Adamson Y10’s under hung as down fill. The side hangs each had 12 x Adamson Y10’s and 6 x Adamson Y10’s were used as front fill. Adamson T21 subs, were spaced in 4 blocks of 4 evenly across the front of the stage. The system was powered by Lab Gruppen FP 6400’s and processed by Dolby Lake 412 processors.

Front of House was controlled by a Digico D5, and monitor land used a Yamaha PM5D. The band were all on inear monitors.

The next venue, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, involved the added challenge of doing this show in the round. In total 48 Kudo were used. The main hangs were 12 x Kudo per side, with the other 4 hangs having 6 boxes in each. A PM5D was used at Front of House and a PM1D for Monitors. The system was processed by Lake Contours and amplified with Lab Gruppen FP 6400’s.

Once Brisbane was up and running the crew moved on to Sydney to the State Sports Centre. Here, 6 x Y18’s were flown with 4 x Y10’s underneath and supplemented by 4 Spectrix per side for some out fill. Subs were 8 x T21 and another 4 x Y10’s as front fill. There was a PM1D at Front of House and a PM5D for Monitors. The system was processed by Dolby Lakes and amplified by Lab Gruppen FP 6400’s.

The last venue was Challenge Stadium in Perth where Adamson was used; 8 x Y18’s with 4 x Y10’s underneath on each side and 6 x Y10’s as outfill. 12 x T 21 subs provided some bottom end in the system and 6 x Y10’s were used as front fill. Again, 4 x Dolby Lakes were used to process the system and Lab Gruppen Amps. There was a Digico D5 at Front of House and a PM5D for Monitors.
