Norwest Beijing a “Sure Bet” in Macau

Norwest Productions Beijing office has just completed a huge corporate event for Australian electrical wholesaler and manufacturer Hagemeyer in the gambling capital of Asia - Macau. Attended by some 1,500 Hagemeyer distributors and clients the event ran for five days and required six separate sound systems. Norwest was retained for the job by long term client Michael Lippold from Silversun.

The event took place in the newly opened Venetian Hotel & Casino – themed with inspiration directly from Venice and in almost every respect a clone of its sister venue the legendary Las Vegas Venetian.

Norwest supplied an L’Acoustics KUDO system for the main plenary sessions with Yamaha PM5Ds for FOH and monitors. This system was also used for the one of the dinners featuring legendary rocker Suzi Quatro. Systems were also supplied for pre-conference workshops, breakfast room, an opening cocktails party in St Marks Square (a miniature replica of the original). Norwest provided supplementary equipment and crew for the final night gala dinner featuring Jon Stevens and thirty musicians. The predominantly Meyer rig was supplied by the Venetian inhouse AV department.

Crew came half from Beijing and half from the Sydney office:
Project Manager: Simon Main
(manager Beijing office)

Audio Engineer: Jack Guo (Beijing)
Audio assistant:Katie Tian (Beijing)
Audio Engineer: Ricki Cook (Sydney)
Audio Engineer: Antonio Calvi (Sydney)
Audio Engineer: Lee  Grimshaw (Sydney)

Norwest CEO Chris Kennedy flew in for the important set up and first show days before traveling onto Beijing.
