Sensation White 2008 Melbourne

Norwest Productions provided the largest Adamson rig flown in the Southern Hemisphere for the inaugural Sensation White at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome on New Year’s Eve 2008. The event was sold out with 45,000 punters all dressed in white which was the compulsory dress code. They partied until dawn underneath the giant set with lights, lasers, fireworks, international DJs and perfomers and had a truly amazing experience.
| The main audio system was comprised of eight clusters each consisting of seven Adamson Y18 underhung with seven Adamson Y10. These were flown around the central stage. A total of thirty two Adamson T21 subs were deployed along with sixteen L’Acoustics KUDO as frontfill. In addition there were delay clusters using a total of thirty six L’Acoustics KUDO. |

The entire system was amplified using LabGruppen fp6400s and fp10000Qs with XTA DP448 & DP226 processors controlled by Audiocore. Signal to the delay rings, some of which involved runs of over 300m, was achieved using seven nodes of Optocore.

The event has been brought to Australia by the Dutch company ID&T which was founded in the early 1990s and organises the largest dance events in the world. ID&T are the initials of the three founders of the company, Irfan, Duncan and Theo. Today, ID&T is the largest dance organizer in The Netherlands. Events organised by the company include Sensation, Black, Mysteryland, Innercity, Thunderdome (hardcore techno and techno), Trance Energy, Bloomingdale and NJOY. The parties have incredibly high production values with large sound systems plus lots of spectacular light and laser shows and fireworks.
