Beijing in Bloom - Western Academy of Beijing Gala Charity Dinner

The annual Western Academy of Beijing Gala Charity Dinner was recently held at the Kempinski Commune next to the Great Wall of China which is located about two hours out of Beijing.

This year’s theme was Beijing in Bloom with the aim to raise money for the rebuilding and ongoing support of a school devastated by last year’s Sichuan earthquake. The evening commenced with the duo Touche entertaining guests as they enjoyed cocktails in the garden.

The entertainment in the ballroom was shared between two bands; Shanti and Red & Blue. Items were auctioned to raise money, the most prized item up for bids was a guitar signed by Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Star.

In keeping with the spirit of the event Norwest donated the PA which consisted of 4 x Adamson Metrix stacked on 2 x Adamson Metrix subs per side along with ERIC wedges and a PM5D at FOH.

The evening was a resounding success, with the WAB organisers taking the Norwest crew out for dinner to show their appreciation.
