DEFQON 1

Sydney has never seen an event like it! This is the first time Defqon 1 has been held outside the Netherlands - and easily sold out all 15,000 tickets. Organised by Q-Dance Australia the attention to detail was impressive - the ticketing, stage layout, community involvement, set design, lighting, special effects and particularly the audio.

Held at the Penrith International Regatta Centre, this unique venue had the added bonus of almost no noise restrictions. All reviews and forums were most impressed by the superb audio quality. Loopi, the reviewer for inthemix.com.au was 'shocked by the immense audio clarity even from afar. The back of the red stage was so incredibly loud and clear that it didn’t matter if you weren’t close to the front. This was a foreign experience to most of us, and it will remain a strong factor that has set a high standard for future events. However, if you were brave enough to venture up to the front barrier, you felt the strength of the sound system within your body; the bassy air punched through the speaker cones, and physically shook you during each beat.'

The definite highlight of this event was the fact there was almost no noise restrictions for the venue so we were able to deliver the SPL the client wanted all day with ease. The Adamson system performed outstandingly without a hitch. The sub bass content of the event was huge and the T-21s were able to deliver clean tight bass all day up to 80m away and still rattle your bones. Many forums stated that this event was an amazing production and the best audio punters had heard at a festival type event anywhere in Australia.
