Ozomatli Performs In China

Since their inception in Los Angeles 15 years ago, Ozomatli has been on a mission to spread globally a message of peace through their distinctive & diverse music style. Representing the United States as Cultural Ambassadors, Ozomatli will again be extending their devotion to urban sound clashing all the way to China and beyond. Ozomatli who are based in LA, are a multiethnic group who transcend all cultural, social & ethnic boundaries and have long been involved in community programs both locally and abroad.Ozomatli, a 7-10 piece band playing primarily Latin, Rock & Hip Hop. They are widely known for their diverse array of styles as well as their activist views.

Ozomatli were brought to China by the United States Embassy as a cultural gift to the people of China. The events company enlisted by the Embassy to manage the tour was Splitworks .
A well known Western company that specialises in live music . With offices in Shanghai and Beijing .
Lighting and production management were provided by 3BM Events services .

Wuhan exceeded audience expectations . With about 3,000 people attending .
The concert was held outside in a downtown plaza .
With the PA consisting of 4 Kudo on 4 subs per side . With a PM5D at front of house and monitors .

The Beijing concert was held at the picturesque "Clamshell" ampitheatre in Chaoyang Park and was near capacity with close to 6,000 people .
The PA provided for the Beijing show was 12 flown Kudo and 8 subs per side . Amplified by Lab Gruppen FP 10,000Q and FP 7000 amplifiers
With Nexo PS15s used as monitors for the support act . "Hangai" . A well known Mongolian band .

Lee Grimshaw comments "the Kudo really delivered the goods.....they are often under-rated in terms of their ability to deliver sound results for major concert work.....this is the second tour we have worked on closely with Ozomatli in China to supply their audio systems, with this tour being an even more resounding success than the previous". Eduardo "Mack" Mackinlay, Ozomatli's FOH engineer stated "he was extremely happy with the audio system provided for these concerts and enjoyed working closely with with such a professional and friendly audio crew, making for a great experience for him, tour managment, the audience and the band alike"
