Spirit of the Country - Toowoomba Showgrounds

On March 20, 2011 Norwest Productions supplied audio services to the Spirit of Country Concert at Toowoomba Showground. This was a charity event, 100% free admission. Tickets were distributed via online ballot to worst affected flood victims in Toowoomba, Grantham & Lockyer Valley along with volunteer workers from SES and emergency services. It was the largest ever assembled line up of Australian Country Music Artists.

All artists and suppliers donated their services. The house band played for all artists, (made up of the A team of Australian country players with MD Rod McCormack.). The audience was estimated at 20,000 people and Prince William put in an appearance (although did not speak to the masses) Other Production companies involved included Chameleon, C&M Productions, General Backline Hire Audio Points of interest: Ian Shapcott designed sub array by 'utilising an end fire sub array'. This creates a cardioid affect in the sub frequencies meaning there was almost no sub bass on stage yet incredibly even sub coverage in the audience listening area area. What the audience had to say: "Awesome day guys a big thank you to all the artists that braved the weather for a good cause thank you very much again for the experience of a once in a lifetime concert" "Thank You to EVERYONE that helped in anyway to organise this day! and a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that turned up as I say great show and awesome company! Well Done EVERYONE!" "Thank you to all the artists who gave their time and to the sponsors and a big thank to Gina Jefferies for thinking of her home town. You maybe able to take the girl out of Toowoomba but you can't take Toowoomba out of the girl. Good one you Gina."
